Trey Hawsey Earns ABCA All-South Region First Team Honors

Sophomore first baseman from West Monroe leads Louisiana Tech to historic regional selections

A Milestone for Louisiana Tech Baseball

Trey Hawsey, a sophomore first baseman from West Monroe, has been selected to the ABCA/Rawlings All-South Region First Team, a distinction that underscores his rapid emergence in college baseball.

His season was defined by a combination of power and consistency: 76 hits, 15 home runs, 47 runs batted in and 135 total bases, along with 25 multi-hit games, a 16-game hitting streak and a 26-game on-base streak that kept the Bulldogs competitive.

The honor places him among five Louisiana players on the First Team, four of whom are LSU teammates, and marks the first time a Louisiana Tech infielder has received the accolade since 2022.

Historically, Hawsey becomes the tenth Bulldog to earn All-Region status since 2001 and the seventh to be named to the First Team, joining previous selections such as Ethan Bates in 2024 and Taylor Young in 2022.
