The Pacific Coast Athletic League’s Cypress Division recently announced its slate of major award winners, spotlighting a pair of King City High standouts.

Baseball Honors Across the Board

Jacoby Chavez earned Offensive Player of the Year while Joel Pina was crowned Pitcher of the Year, capping a season that saw both athletes drive the team’s offensive and mound success.

Additional King City players secured spots on the first‑team all‑league roster, including Joaquin Sabala and Noah Villalobos, while a host of teammates collected second‑team honors and sportsmanship accolades.

The recognition extended beyond baseball, with softball athletes from King City, Gonzales, Soledad and Greenfield also receiving first‑team and second‑team selections, as well as inclusion on the Richard Chamberlin All‑Sportsmanship Team.

Schools across the division celebrated the achievements, noting that the Elgie Bellizio Sportsmanship Team of the Year award went to the Aztec squad from Soledad and the Greenfield squad in their respective sports.
