Camp Brims with Energy
Montana Tech’s football program drew nearly two hundred youngsters to its annual youth camp this summer, inviting kids from kindergarten through eighth grade across the state.
Head coach Kyle Samson greeted the participants with palpable excitement, emphasizing how the camp serves as a bridge between community engagement and the team’s looming 2025 campaign.
The camp’s curriculum blended drills with classroom sessions, giving the children a taste of college‑level preparation while fostering a love for the game.
A Season of Firsts
The 2025 season marked a turning point for Montana Tech, as the Orediggers finished the regular slate without a loss and broke a decade‑long playoff drought, achievements that have raised expectations for the upcoming year.
Samson noted that many of last year’s returners have internalized the habits that led to an unprecedented undefeated regular season, a milestone that set the stage for the team’s first playoff victory in over ten years.
The coach added that the experience is as much about building future leaders as it is about refining athletic talent, a message that resonated with parents and players alike.
As the camp drew to a close, participants left with signed jerseys, new friendships, and a glimpse of what it means to be part of a program that is redefining its narrative.
Looking ahead, Samson believes the momentum generated on the field will translate into stronger recruitment, higher attendance at games, and a deeper connection with the campus community.
