Jerome Brewer Jr., the versatile forward who has been a cornerstone of La Salle’s recent campaigns, announced that he will be back for the 2026‑27 season after a season‑ending injury cut short his previous year. His decision comes as the program looks to retain a player who has consistently contributed on both ends of the floor.
During the 2024‑25 campaign he appeared in 19 games, starting 15 of them, and posted averages of 11.2 points, 4.2 rebounds and a 47.7% field‑goal percentage. He proved his shooting range by hitting 19 three‑pointers and reached double‑digit scoring on ten occasions, underscoring his reliability as a go‑to option.
A Season of Resilience
One of the season’s highlights came on Jan. 17, 2026, when Brewer erupted for a career‑high 27 points against St. Bonaventure, a performance that sparked excitement among fans and analysts alike. The outburst was part of a broader stretch in which he delivered multiple 20‑point games, including a 21‑point effort in the Atlantic 10 opener versus George Mason on Dec. 31, 2025 and a 21‑point, seven‑rebound showing at Fordham on Jan. 28, 2026.
The momentum was abruptly halted on Feb. 21, 2026, when a collision with Rhode Island resulted in a season‑ending injury. The setback required extensive rehabilitation, but recent medical evaluations have cleared him for full participation, paving the way for his return next season.
