Union’s Gannon Labrum named Player of the Year; Tyson Marx earns Playoff MVP

The Deseret News has released its 2026 3A All-State baseball selections, honoring the standout performers from across Utah’s high school ranks.

Union School dominated the honors, with senior Gannon Labrum crowned Player of the Year after posting a 1.237 OPS and scoring 42 runs, while teammate Tyson Marx was named Playoff MVP with a 1.212 OPS and 39 RBI.

First-team accolades also went to several other players, including Jordan Fawson of Grantsville, who batted .472 with 44 stolen bases, and Spencer Robbins of Manti, who posted a .495 average and a 3.77 ERA.

Additional first-team members such as Ryan Oakey from Union, who went 7-1 with a 2.48 ERA, and Zach Blackham of Manti, who hit .411 and posted a 3.45 ERA, rounded out the elite list.

Second Team and Honorable Mentions

The second team and honorable-mention groups also showcased depth, featuring names like Bryce Swapp from North Sanpete, who recorded a 5-3 record and 86 strikeouts, and Xander Pappas from Carbon, a junior pitcher recognized on the second team.

Across the state, players from schools including Canyon View, North Sanpete, Emery, Carbon, Delta, Juab, Ogden, Logan, Morgan and others earned spots, reflecting the breadth of talent in Utah’s 3A baseball circuit.
