Jeremiah Hall earns Player of the Year as Utah’s top talent is recognized

The Deseret News has released its 2026 5A All-State baseball team, honoring the standout high school players from across Utah.

Player of the Year: Jeremiah Hall

Jeremiah Hall of Maple Mountain captured the Player of the Year award after delivering a .465 batting average, a .575 on-base percentage and eight home runs, numbers that placed him at the top of the state’s offensive leaders.

Playoff MVP: Trigg Cloward

Trigg Cloward from Spanish Fork was named Playoff MVP, showcasing a blend of power at the plate and reliable fielding that helped his team advance deep into the postseason.

The first team includes a host of exceptional athletes such as Nixon Warren of Spanish Fork, who hit .417 with 48 hits and 23 extra-base hits, and Mason Hawk Henry of Pleasant Grove, who finished the season 7-1 on the mound with a 1.90 ERA. Wyatt Penrod from West Field posted a .535 average with 53 hits and eight home runs, while Cayden Giles of Maple Mountain combined a .469 average with two homers and 18 stolen bases. Sammy Dart of Spanish Fork contributed a .406 average and an 8-1 record as a two-way player, and McCoy Johnson from Alta added a .405 average, 10 home runs and 32 RBI. Nash Clement of Pleasant Grove made the second team as an infielder, and Austin Brown of Wasatch was recognized as an outfielder, while Mitch Walker of Maple Mountain also earned a second-team outfield nod. Ruger Braithwaite from Payson contributed on the mound and at third base, and Tad Grange from Fremont excelled as a pitcher and first-baseman.
