Quinnipiac University and ECAC Hockey announced the full slate of games for the 2026‑27 men’s ice hockey season, setting the stage for what promises to be another competitive campaign for the Bobcats.
Opening Stretch
The Bobcats open the season on November 5, kicking off with a sweep of Cornell and Colgate on the road — a feat not achieved since 2018 and a clear signal that the team is poised to dominate the early schedule.
Just two weeks later, the home‑opening weekend welcomes Dartmouth and Harvard on November 13 and 14, followed by a road clash at Princeton on November 29, giving fans a taste of the season’s high‑stakes matchups.
The first half of the ECAC slate concludes with a home series against St. Lawrence and Clarkson, while the second half kicks off with games at Harvard and Dartmouth on January 8 and 9, and a return home to host Colgate and Cornell on January 15 and 16.
Quinnipiac will then endure a grueling stretch of three games in five days, traveling to Brown and Yale on January 22 and 23 before hosting Princeton on January 26, underscoring the team’s depth and resilience.
The regular season wraps up with a back‑to‑back matchup against Yale on February 26 and Brown on February 27, rounding out a schedule that blends tradition with fresh challenges.
Key returning players include Ethan Wyttenbach, Elliott Groenewold, Markus Vidicek and Antonin Verreault, each of whom contributed significantly to the team’s recent successes.
Wyttenbach was named the 2026 Tim Taylor National Rookie of the Year, Groenewold earned a unanimous First Team All‑ECAC selection, and both Vidicek and Verreault posted 35 points last season, with Verreault also earning All‑Rookie and Second Team All‑ECAC honors.
Head coach Rand Pecknold, along with assistant coach Reid Cashman, will guide a roster that blends veteran poise with fresh talent, aiming to extend the Bobcats’ streak of ECAC regular‑season titles.
