Virtual Track, Real Impact
iRacing and NASCAR announced a joint venture that puts the newly constructed Qualcomm Circuit on the virtual track roster before the real‑world event.
The street course, laid out on the streets of Naval Base Coronado in California, spans 3.4 miles of tight straights, sweeping turns and a sharp Coronado Chicane that tests both braking and cornering.
The layout will debut during the Father’s Day weekend NASCAR San Diego event, headlined by the NASCAR Cup Series Anduril 250 Race the Base, with support from the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series and the Craftsman Truck Series.
iRacing president Tony Gardner said the partnership lets sim racers “experience the track before anyone else,” while NASCAR Chief Operating Officer Ben Kennedy highlighted iRacing’s role in “developing and refining new tracks” for future competition.
This isn’t the first time the two organisations have collaborated; iRacing helped bring the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum oval and the Chicago Street Course to life in previous virtual‑real world rollouts.
By giving drivers a chance to fine‑tune setups and strategies in the simulator, the partnership aims to make the inaugural street race a showcase of both engineering and fan engagement.
