Missouri State University's men's basketball program received a boost this week as head coach Cuonzo Martin announced the commitment of transfer Jordan Blair for the upcoming 2026‑27 season.
Blair, a 6‑foot‑5 guard/forward, arrives after two seasons at Colorado State University Pueblo where he posted a career‑high 13.4 points and 6.4 rebounds per game as a sophomore, shooting 38 percent from three‑point range.
The Bears' coaching staff highlighted his versatility, noting that he started all 30 games last year and contributed both scoring and rebounding in a Thunderwolves team that finished 22‑8.
A versatile addition
Martin emphasized that Blair's toughness and ability to stretch the floor fit the program's vision, stating that the player's work ethic aligns with the university's standards.
Before his collegiate career, Blair was a four‑year letterman at Keller Central High School in Texas, where he averaged 21 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.1 assists while earning first‑team all‑district and all‑area honors in 2023‑24.
Martin also took the opportunity to acknowledge the contributions of longtime assistant Gerald Sledge, whose presence has been a constant for the Bears over the past decade.
Looking ahead
With the addition of Blair, Missouri State looks to build on recent momentum and contend for a conference title, and the coaching staff is already mapping out ways to integrate his skill set into the upcoming roster.
The Bears' fan base is eager to see how Blair will mesh with returning players, and early projections suggest he could become a key factor in the team's offensive schemes.
