Preseason Honors and Upcoming Schedule
The Mid-American Conference is buzzing as Phil Steele’s preseason All‑MAC team was released, spotlighting ten Chippewas who earned spots across the second, third and fourth teams.
Langston Lewis, a senior wide receiver, was recognized on the second team, reflecting his consistent production and leadership.
Jacob Russell, Jacob Booth, JJ Douglas and Jaion Jackson joined him on the third team, underscoring depth at multiple positions.
Vaughn Blue, Martin Koivisto, Korver Demma, Xavier White and Declan Duley rounded out the fourth team, highlighting the program’s breadth of talent.
The 2026 campaign kicks off on Saturday, September 5, when the Chippewas travel to New Mexico for a night‑time showdown at 10 p.m. Eastern, 8 p.m. Mountain.
Home fans can look forward to six home games, five of which fall on Saturdays in September and October, providing a steady rhythm of marquee matchups.
Adding to the excitement, the conference’s preseason media day is slated for Wednesday, July 22 at Ford Field in Detroit, where coaches and players will field questions ahead of the season.
Practice sessions are set to begin in early August, giving the squad a chance to fine‑tune strategies before the first kickoff.
