Ben Davis to Host Annual Underclass Boys Basketball Showcase
Friday will see the 24th edition of the IBCA/IHSAA Top 100 Underclass Boys Basketball Showcase take place at Ben Davis High School, offering a full day of basketball action that begins at 11:30 a.m. and wraps up at 4:55 p.m. Spectators can attend for $5 per day, while coaches from Division I programs are invited to watch in person during the scholastic viewing period.
The showcase is structured around six separate scrimmage sessions, an Overtime Tournament scheduled for 4:15 p.m., and closing comments at 4:45 p.m. This format gives each team a chance to display its depth and allows scouts to evaluate players in a competitive yet controlled environment.
A total of 120 players from schools across the region have been selected to participate, and they are organized into teams identified by distinct colors such as Gold, Columbia, Kelly, Red, Navy, Maroon, Lime, Gray, Royal, Black, Purple and Orange. While many of the prospects are healthy, a number of them will be unable to play because of injuries or other personal reasons.
The event serves as an early barometer for the upcoming high school season, drawing attention from college recruiters, media outlets and families eager to see the next generation of talent. Its location in Indiana and the presence of Division I coaches underscore its importance within the national basketball circuit.
