Six standout athletes earn conference, regional and district accolades after a strong 2026 season

The Cheboygan girls soccer program celebrated a productive 2026 campaign as six of its players earned all‑Northern Shores Conference honors, a testament to the team’s competitive rise.

Conference Honors

Morgan Davis, Elise Markham and Maddie Long were selected to the first team, while Jaelyn Wheelock and Caitlin Easter earned spots on the second team. Briahna Campbell received honorable‑mention recognition, underscoring the breadth of talent across the roster.

Finishing third in the Northern Shores Conference with a 10‑7‑2 overall record and an 8‑4‑1 mark in league play, the team concluded the season with a banquet on June 9, where coaches presented a suite of awards.

Season Awards

Jaelyn Wheelock was named Most Valuable Player, Morgan Davis captured Most Valuable Offensive Player, and Maddie Long received the Most Valuable Defensive Player award. Ivy Chamberlain was honored as the Most Improved Player, rounding out the individual recognitions.

Beyond conference accolades, Wheelock and Davis added MIHSSCA all‑region honors, and both were included on the all‑district squad alongside Cloee Rupp, Campbell, Easter, Long, and Markham, reflecting their impact beyond the local league.

The Michigan High School Soccer Coaches Association, which oversees the conference, praised the group’s development, noting that the district representation highlights the program’s growing stature.
