MIAA Announces 2026 Baseball Academic Awards
On June 11, the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association revealed its 2026 baseball academic honors, spotlighting a cohort of student‑athletes who have excelled in the classroom as well as on the diamond.
Eleven members of the Pittsburg State University baseball roster earned spots on the MIAA Academic Honor Roll, a distinction that requires a minimum 3.00 GPA and the submission of grades from at least two academic terms.
Among those recognized, Zach Voss stood out as a Scholar‑Athlete, a designation reserved for those who maintain a 3.50 GPA or higher, meet the same grade‑reporting criteria, and have been selected to the All‑MIAA team.
The honored players include Cooper Crouch, Ryker Curry, Blake Garrett, Kam Koester, Ryan Leiker, Bradley Neill, Brett Sarwinski, Cole Toureau, Kolt Ungehauer, Lucas Vanlanduit and Zach Voss, each of whom balances a demanding athletic schedule with rigorous academic pursuits.
MIAA Commissioner Jeff Jones praised the group, noting that the combination of high academic standards and competitive play reflects the conference’s commitment to developing well‑rounded leaders.
The recognition also underscores the role of Pittsburg State University and its partnership with the broader NCAA framework in promoting scholarship within collegiate sports.
