Tim Adams, a former coach at Park Tudor School, has been appointed as the new basketball coach at Bishop Chatard, bringing with him a distinguished eight‑year tenure that produced a 115‑66 record, two sectional championships and a regional title.
Chatard, while lacking the recent dominance of its rival, showed marked improvement last season, finishing with a four‑win stretch in its final five games before bowing out in the Class 3A sectional semifinal. The team’s leading contributors, guard Ari Sahm and forward Zach McCormack, are expected to play pivotal roles as the program seeks to build on that momentum.
A New Era for the Trojans
Adams says his mission extends beyond the hardwood; he wants to cultivate a culture that values community engagement and academic excellence as much as athletic success. To that end, he plans to deepen ties with local Catholic Youth Organization feeder programs, using those relationships to attract and retain talent.
In addition to his coaching duties, Adams will serve as an assistant athletic director at Chatard, a dual role he believes will help align basketball development with the broader athletic landscape of the school.
The Trojans have not captured a sectional championship since the 2003‑04 season, a drought that Adams is eager to end. By blending his proven coaching pedigree with a focus on holistic player development, he hopes to restore Chatard’s place among the region’s competitive programs.
