The 98th edition of the Ohio High School Athletic Association baseball state tournament is currently in progress, with championship games scheduled to conclude on Sunday, June 14. The event showcases the top high school teams from across the state as they battle for the coveted title.
Stark County is represented by two programs: North Canton Hoover will compete in Division II, while Lake Center Christian will represent the county in Division VI. Lake Center Christian entered the tournament as last year’s runner‑up, and Hoover’s appearance marks its first state final‑four berth since 1999, underscoring the county’s growing baseball pedigree.
The semifinals are slated for two historic venues: 7 17 Credit Union Park in Akron and the venerable Thurman Munson Memorial Stadium in Canton. Both sites promise a lively atmosphere as fans gather to support their local teams.
Although the semifinal games will be played in both Akron and Canton, the championship finals themselves will be held exclusively in Akron, giving the city a central role in determining the state champions.
