Montana Western announced this week that Ryne Freeman will join the Bulldogs as an assistant coach, a move that underscores the program’s focus on continuity and development.

Coach’s Endorsement

Head Coach J.C. Isakson highlighted Freeman’s work ethic, describing him as a bright young professional whose dedication has already made a positive impression on the team.

Freeman’s career path includes two years at Southwestern Oklahoma State, where he began as a graduate assistant before being promoted to assistant coach, and a tenure as head manager for the men’s basketball program at Northeastern State.

A native of Pryor, Oklahoma, Freeman holds a master’s degree in sports management from Southwestern Oklahoma State and a bachelor’s in health and physical education from Northeastern State.

Isakson noted that Freeman was recommended by his previous head coaches, a testament to his reputation as a reliable and knowledgeable mentor.

The new assistant will be involved across all facets of the basketball program, from player development to scouting, aiming to elevate the Bulldogs’ competitiveness in the Frontier Conference.
