Jamisen Green Commits to SIU Women's Basketball
Southern Illinois University announced that Jamisen Green, the all‑time leading scorer in Harrisburg High School history, has signed to join the Salukis' 2026 women's basketball roster. The 6‑foot‑2 forward capped a stellar high school career with more than 2,200 points, earning Southern Illinois Player of the Year honors and a place on the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association All‑State team.
Head coach Kelly Bond‑White praised Green's blend of work ethic, humility and competitive fire, saying the recruit is a perfect fit for the program's culture. "She brings a relentless drive that will elevate everyone around her," Bond‑White said in the announcement.
Academic Ambitions and Future Plans
Green plans to pursue a degree in exercise science at Southern Illinois, a stepping stone toward a career in physical therapy. The university highlighted how her academic focus mirrors her athletic dedication.
The signing also underscores SIU's commitment to nurturing talent from the region. By bringing a standout from Harrisburg, the program hopes to strengthen its pipeline of local athletes who can compete at the national level while contributing to the community.
Green's addition comes as the Salukis look to build on recent successes, including a conference championship run. Her versatility on the court and disciplined approach are expected to add depth to the lineup as the team prepares for the upcoming season.
