Indiana football standouts Josh Hoover and Khobie Martin spent a recent afternoon at the Mary Rigg Neighborhood Center’s Summer Day Camp, bringing a splash of excitement to a group of eager youngsters.
The two Hoosiers distributed ice cream, signed autographs and answered questions, turning a simple camp visit into a memorable experience for campers and counselors alike.
More Than a Game
Khobie Martin, a three‑star recruit from Fishers High School who committed to Indiana in 2024, spoke about his affection for the state and the shift in perception of the Hoosiers from a basketball‑centric program to a rising football force.
During Indiana’s recent championship run, Martin contributed 505 rushing yards and six touchdowns, helping the team capture national attention. He admitted that before the surge he mainly associated the school with basketball, but the recent success has changed that view.
Quarterback Josh Hoover, the most productive returning signal‑caller in the nation with 9,629 career yards and 71 touchdowns, took the opportunity to stress his dedication to community service, promising to remain a positive role model for the state’s youth.
The event was organized in partnership with United Way and Braden Business Systems, a Fishers‑based IT firm, underscoring a collaborative effort to blend athletic achievement with local outreach.
Campers watched highlights from the Hoosiers’ championship run in anticipation of the players’ visit, their excitement mirroring the growing football fandom among youngsters across Indiana.
