Dynamo Extends Coach Kuhl as Rink Gets Major Upgrade Ahead of Second Season

Two‑year contract for Ron Kuhl, renovated Capital Arena rink, and collegiate commitments highlight the program’s growth

A New Era for the Dynamo

The New York Dynamo are gearing up for what promises to be a breakthrough campaign, with the second season scheduled to run from September 2026 through March 2027.

Rink Revamp

A massive 42‑day renovation transformed Rink 2 at the Capital Arena, expanding the venue by 17,000 square feet and installing modern viewing areas, a new weight room, upgraded locker rooms, six‑foot glass behind the benches, fresh dasher boards, and expanded bench seating.

Head Coach and General Manager Ron Kuhl, who guided the team from a 6‑16 start to a 14‑16 finish in its inaugural season, has signed a two‑year extension, bringing over three decades of coaching experience and the legacy of Excel Hockey Inc. to the program.

The roster will also see three standout players from the 2025‑26 NCDC team move on to college hockey, with Will McDonald committing to Beloit College, Eric Truesdell to Misericordia University, and Louis Sweenor to SUNY Plattsburgh.

With upgraded facilities, a stable coaching core, and a pipeline of talent heading to the next level, the Dynamo are positioned to strengthen their foothold in the regional hockey landscape.
