Rice Men's Basketball Announces Coaching Staff Promotions

Tyler Dawson joins the staff as assistant coach after a stint as graduate assistant and video coordinator. Dawson’s contribution to St. Thomas, where he helped compile a 54‑15 record and secure two conference titles, underscores his ability to blend analytics with on‑court strategy.
Jack Schoemann will oversee basketball operations as assistant athletic director. Previously a special assistant to the head coach, Schoemann’s organizational skills and attention to detail are expected to streamline logistics and enhance the program’s operational efficiency.
Gabe Ramos takes on the role of director of player development. A former standout at McAlester College, Ramos earned All‑Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference honors and brings a player‑first perspective to talent cultivation.
