RIT Men’s Hockey Earns All-Academic Honors with Record GPA

Twenty-five players receive Atlantic Hockey America academic accolades, highlighting the team's scholarly excellence

The Atlantic Hockey America conference announced its 2025‑26 All‑Academic Team, recognizing 25 members of the Rochester Institute of Technology Men’s Hockey squad for their performance both on the ice and in the classroom.

Among them, five senior players — Gustav Blom, Philippe Jacques, Simon Isabelle, Adam Jeffrey and Tyler Mahan — earned the distinction for the fourth straight year, underscoring a sustained commitment to academic excellence.

Collectively, the team posted a 3.60 grade point average, the highest among all RIT men’s programs and placing fifth out of the 25 teams measured across the athletic department’s cumulative GPA rankings.

A Conference-Wide Academic Surge

The AHA honored a total of 231 student‑athletes from its ten member institutions who maintained at least a 3.0 GPA during both the Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 semesters, a benchmark tied to eligibility for conference competition.

All 25 RIT teams achieved a cumulative GPA of at least 3.17, with 18 of those squads surpassing the 3.30 threshold, reflecting a department‑wide culture that prizes scholarship as much as competition.

RIT’s athletic director praised the student‑athletes for embodying the university’s mission of integrating rigorous academics with varsity sport, noting that the recognition reinforces the school’s reputation for producing well‑rounded leaders.
