The Natchez Bulldogs finished the 2025 campaign with a 3‑7 record, a result that left the community eager for change. Head coach Steve Davis, now in his second year, believes the upcoming season offers a fresh start and a chance to build on the foundation laid during the previous schedule.
A Revamped Schedule
The Bulldogs will host six home games in 2026, beginning with an opening clash against Vicksburg High School on August 28. A week earlier, the team will take part in a jamboree against Franklin County High School on August 21, giving players a chance to fine‑tune before the regular season begins.
Key matchups include rematches with Vicksburg, South Pike and Jefferson County, opponents that Coach Davis expects to keep on the slate for the first half of the season. Additional regular‑season games are slated against North Pike, Laurel, Sumrall, South Jones and Brookhaven, while the Bulldogs will also travel to face Hazlehurst, Magnolia and other local rivals.
Leadership changes are also afoot. Todd McDaniel, who previously coached Ridgeland, has retired, making way for Quentin Euell to take the helm. The transition adds a new storyline to the season, as does the return of familiar faces in the coaching staff and support personnel.
Among the players to watch are returning standouts such as Kameron Morgan, Christian Ferguson, Josh Barnes, Mario Moore, Jafaria Woods, Kamron White, Anthony Givens and Kentrell Washington. Their development will be crucial as the Bulldogs look to translate early-season momentum into consistent wins.
Beyond the field, the program remains deeply rooted in the Natchez community. Support from parents, alumni and local businesses continues to fuel the team's ambitions, and the upcoming season is seen as a pivotal moment for revitalizing interest in Bulldog football.
