Celebrating Academic Excellence
Bethune-Cookman Athletics announced that 216 of its student-athletes have earned a spot on the 2025-26 SWAC Commissioner's Honor Roll, a distinction reserved for those who maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
The athletic department's academic performance reached a department-wide cumulative GPA of 3.11 during the spring semester, underscoring a culture that values scholarship as much as competition.
Athletic Director Reggie Theus praised the achievement, saying the students' dedication in the classroom reflects the same perseverance they bring to their sports. He added that their hard work in the classroom is a testament to their commitment to excellence.
The honor roll includes 112 athletes who posted a GPA of 3.5 or above, while 38 Wildcats achieved a perfect 4.0, highlighting a remarkable standard of academic performance across the program.
The recognition spans campuses in Birmingham, Alabama, and Daytona Beach, Florida, where the university's athletic programs continue to thrive within the Southwestern Athletic Conference.
The milestone reflects a broader trend across collegiate athletics where institutions are increasingly measuring success by the holistic development of their student-athletes, blending competitive ambition with rigorous scholarship.
