UCLA baseball secured a 9-6 victory over Oregon in the series finale at Jackie Robinson Stadium in Los Angeles on Sunday, capping a comeback that saw nine of their 13 hits arrive in the final four innings.
The Bruins erased a 6-1 hole, highlighted by junior outfielder Dean West’s go-ahead grand slam in the sixth inning that swung the momentum in their favor.
A Late-Inning Surge
UCLA turned to a trio of relievers — Landon Stump, Angel Cervantes and others — who combined for three consecutive scoreless frames, with Stump limiting Oregon to two singles in the second inning.
Junior shortstop Roch Cholowsky added a home run to left-center, while redshirt junior outfielder Payton Brennan crossed the plate twice, including his second run of the game in the eighth.
The win marks the Bruins’ final regular-season series before they travel to Seattle to open a four-game set against Washington at Husky Ballpark.
