Fifteen‑year‑old Carly Green stepped onto the track at Pocono Raceway on June 12, delivering a soaring rendition of the national anthem that resonated through the grandstands during NASCAR’s weekend festivities.
A Personal Tribute
The performance was more than a musical milestone; Green dedicated the anthem to her late grandfather, Richard Green, whose lifelong passion for NASCAR had inspired her from an early age.
Earlier this year, Green captured national attention by winning the “Oh Say Can You Sing” contest, a platform that opened doors to high‑profile gigs across the region.
A Summer of Appearances
Beyond Pocono, Green is slated to sing at the Schuylkill United Way’s 9th Annual High School Football Challenge on June 16, and will later headline Tamaqua’s Fourth of July celebration at Liberty Tree Park, continuing a busy summer schedule that also includes appearances at state championship games.
A student at Marian Catholic High School, Green balances her academic responsibilities with a growing performance calendar, showcasing how a young artist from Tamaqua can make waves on a national stage.
