Justin Vander Baan, a former star at Whitinsville Christian and a Defensive Player of the Year at Lafayette College, has added a professional championship to his résumé.
The 6‑foot‑9 forward signed his rookie overseas contract in July and arrived in Boras, Sweden, in late August, joining Boras Basket for the Basketligan season.
During the campaign he posted averages of 8.5 points and 7.9 rebounds per game, numbers that helped the club clinch the league title.
Off the court, Vander Baan appreciated the small‑town atmosphere of Boras, where English is widely spoken, and used his downtime to explore neighboring countries, forging close bonds with teammates.

He has already begun planning his next move, confirming that he will return to Europe next season to continue his basketball career, a decision that reflects both his ambition and the comfort he found abroad.
