Charles Henderson High School is set to host its annual Trojan Spring Football Classic, a three‑day celebration of high school football that draws teams from across the region to Troy University’s Veterans Memorial Stadium.
A Tradition Revived
The centerpiece of the schedule arrives on Saturday, when the Trojans take on Booker T. Washington in a matchup that promises fireworks and fierce competition on the field.
The event is bolstered by sponsorship from C Spire, a regional telecommunications company that has positioned itself as a champion of youth sports and community engagement.
Opening day featured a slate of contests, including a clash between Charles Henderson Middle School and Floyd Middle, as well as Greenville versus Fultondale and Luverne taking on Loachapoka.
The second day of play saw Auburn square off against Thomas County from Georgia and Dothan meet Percy Julian, while the sixth‑grade team from Charles Henderson prepared for a flag‑football showdown with the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity.
Saturday’s action will also include contests such as Carver‑Montgomery versus Bessemer and WS Neal against Pleasant Grove, rounding out a full day of competition that showcases the breadth of local talent.
