USC’s men’s basketball program is setting its sights on a return to the NCAA Tournament as head coach Eric Musselman enters his third year at the helm. The Trojans have built momentum around a blend of experience and fresh talent, a narrative that assistant coach Will Conroy has been quick to articulate.
Conroy, now in his third season with the Trojans, traces his own coaching philosophy back to lessons from former Washington head coach Lorenzo Romar, who emphasized punctuality, respect and loyalty. That foundation has helped shape a roster that returns key contributors such as Jacob Cofie, Alijah Arenas and Rodney Rice, each of whom has shown measurable growth heading into the new campaign.
The team also welcomes a wave of newcomers, including transfers Eric Reibe and KJ Lewis, while three highly touted freshmen — Adonis Ratliff, Darius Ratliff and Christian Collins — bring length, skill and a work ethic that Conroy says could redefine the Trojans’ identity. In addition, mid‑major guards Jadis Jones, Jalen Cox and Isaac Bruns are moving up to the Power‑4 level, adding depth to the backcourt.
A Roster Built for Growth
Veterans Joshua Hughes and Aaron Hunkin‑Claytor are expected to provide leadership off the bench, and Conroy anticipates breakout performances from several players, including Cofie, Arenas, Rice and Reibe. The collective belief is that the Trojans possess the depth and versatility needed to compete for a tournament berth.
