Georgia Tech’s women’s basketball program is gearing up for its second season under head coach Karen Blair, a tenure that began with a clear vision of competitiveness and community building.
The Yellow Jackets finished the previous campaign with a 10‑win home record and secured a berth in the Women’s Basketball Invitational, a milestone that has set high expectations for the upcoming schedule.
Last year’s highlights included victories over nationally ranked opponents such as No. 18 Notre Dame, Clemson, Stanford and Miami, underscoring the team’s ability to punch above its weight against top‑tier competition.
A core group of players returns to the lineup, featuring 2026 All‑ACC First Teamer Talayah Walker, graduate student Inés Noguero, seniors La’Nya Foster and Ariadna Termis, redshirt junior Erica Moon, junior Déborah Mukeba and sophomore Leyre Urdiain, each of whom contributed significantly to the team’s recent success.
Adding depth to the roster are graduate transfer Antonia Bates, sophomores Sofia Muñoz and Penda Dieng, redshirt sophomore Kyndal Walker, redshirt freshman Jordan Ode and true freshman Autumn Washington, who bring a mix of experience and fresh talent.
The non‑conference slate is deliberately challenging, pitting the Yellow Jackets against traditional powerhouses including Rutgers, UAB, Xavier, Maryland and Michigan State, while ACC matchups will see them face Clemson, Duke, NC State and other league rivals.
Looking Ahead
As the season unfolds, the program’s progress will be closely followed by fans, alumni and the broader collegiate basketball community, all eager to see how the Yellow Jackets translate their early promise into sustained excellence.
