Keller Daugherty Commits to Iowa Hawkeyes

The 6‑foot‑10 prospect adds versatility to Iowa's 2027 recruiting class

A Versatile Prospect Joins the Hawkeyes

Keller Daugherty, a 6‑foot‑10 forward from Lee's Summit High School in Missouri, announced his commitment to the University of Iowa men's basketball program, becoming the first pledge in the Hawkeyes' 2027 recruiting class.

Ranked 153rd nationally in the 2027 class by the 247Sports Composite, Daugherty brings a blend of size, shooting and defensive versatility that attracted attention from several mid‑major programs before his breakthrough.

The commitment follows a June visit to Iowa and a series of recent contacts that began with his first power‑conference offer from Oklahoma in June, after which he also received interest from Drake, Iona and Colorado State.

Coach Blake Little, who has guided Daugherty at Lee's Summit, described the recruit as a player who can score at all three levels and has developed a reliable post game despite his continued growth.

Little added that Daugherty's defensive skill set allows him to guard positions three through five, making him a flexible piece for any lineup.

Off the court, Daugherty continues to play AAU basketball for VWBA Elite, the same program that produced Keaton Wagler, further sharpening his game against top competition.

Iowa's coaching staff sees the addition of Daugherty as a boost to their perimeter and interior options, noting his ability to stretch the floor and protect the rim.

The Hawkeyes are also monitoring other 2027 prospects such as Cayden Daughtery, Jaxson Davis and TJ Jamison, but Daugherty's early commitment gives the program a head start in shaping its future roster.
