Keller Daugherty, a 6‑foot‑10 forward from Lee’s Summit High School in Missouri, announced his commitment to the Iowa Hawkeyes on Tuesday, becoming the first verbal pledge in the program’s 2027 recruiting class.
Ranked 153rd in the national 2027 composite, he blends size with a guard‑like skill set, handling the ball, shooting from distance and protecting the rim with equal confidence.
His recruitment gained momentum after receiving his first power‑conference offer from Oklahoma in June, while earlier he had drawn interest from Drake, Iona and Colorado State.
The Recruiting Landscape
Coach Blake Little highlighted Daugherty’s ability to score at all three levels and develop a polished post game, noting that his defensive instincts remain sharp despite his growth.
Off the court, Daugherty competes for VWBA Elite, the same AAU program that produced Keaton Wagler, who guided Illinois to a Final Four as a freshman and is projected as a 2026 lottery pick.
Iowa’s 2027 class now includes a versatile front‑court prospect, but the Hawkeyes are also pursuing other top talents such as Cayden Daughtery, Jaxson Davis and TJ Jamison, keeping the recruiting battle wide open.
