Prospects from across the state converge for drills and games, with IU assistant Rod Clark among the coaches present.

A New Generation of Hoops

The Indiana Basketball Coaches Association’s Underclassman Showcase returned to the familiar grounds of Ben Davis High School this weekend, drawing a crowd of eager prospects and seasoned coaches alike.

Schools ranging from Indiana and Purdue to Evansville, Valparaiso, Western Michigan, Western Kentucky, Miami (OH), Bellarmine, UIndy and IU‑Columbus sent representatives for the early‑morning drills that began promptly at 1:50 p.m.

Among the college staff in attendance was Indiana University assistant coach Rod Clark, who took the opportunity to evaluate the next wave of talent that could shape the Hoosiers’ future roster.

What’s at Stake for the Prospects

For many of the young players, the showcase serves as a first major exposure to Division I recruiters, making performances here potentially pivotal for scholarship pursuits.

Coaches and analysts alike note that the blend of familiar state programs and emerging talent could reshape the balance of power in upcoming high school seasons.
