A Recruiting Surge in Madison
Wisconsin’s 2027 basketball class received a double boost recently as two top prospects announced their commitments to the Badgers.
Jack Thelen, a 7‑foot‑1 center from Maple Grove, Minnesota, revealed his decision on Instagram June 13, just three days after receiving his first high‑major scholarship offer from the university on June 10. Thelen, who also holds offers from Miami (Ohio), Murray State and Montana, is a high school and AAU teammate of fellow 2027 target Baboucarr Ann.
Jalen Brown, an in‑state standout, joined Thelen in pledging to Wisconsin, further solidifying the class.
The commitments have lifted the Badgers’ recruiting class to a fourth‑place finish in the Big Ten and twelfth overall according to 247 Sports, while Rivals ranks the group fifth in the conference and eighteenth nationally.
Both rankings underscore the growing appeal of Wisconsin’s program and suggest the class could become a cornerstone for future competitiveness in the conference.
