Early‑Morning Assault Rocks Central Lincoln
Lincoln police responded to a report of violence at approximately 7:26 a.m. on Tuesday, arriving at the intersection of South 27th and J streets to find a 35‑year‑old man with visible injuries to his legs and head.
The victim told investigators that the attacker struck him repeatedly with a baseball bat before pulling a handgun and issuing threats, creating a scene that alarmed nearby residents.
Officers quickly identified the suspect as 48‑year‑old Kenneth Bordeaux, who was detained without further incident and transported to the county jail for processing.
Bordeaux now faces a slate of charges including second‑degree assault, use of a weapon to commit a felony and possession of a controlled substance, according to the district attorney’s office.
Authorities have indicated that the incident appears to be isolated, but they are increasing patrols in the surrounding neighborhood while the investigation continues and additional evidence is gathered.
