Honoring a Coach and a Community
Reilsono, who began his coaching career at Carnegie Mellon University in 2005, has built a reputation that extends beyond the diamond, earning a place in the CMU Baseball Hall of Fame and receiving the Willie Stargell MVP Lifetime Achievement Award.
The Pittsburgh chapter of the Hall of Fame uses the occasion to award scholarships to high school athletes in financial need, a program that has supported many aspiring players across the region, including the late Gene DeMarco and Frank Cignetti Sr., who will be inducted posthumously.
Among the honorees, Sewickley Academy boys basketball coach Mike Iuzzolino will be celebrated as the organization’s coach of the year, while the Eden Christian Academy baseball team’s recent championship run highlights the depth of talent in the area.
Noah Emswiler delivered a dominant complete‑game pitching performance against Greensburg Central Catholic, and Brady Hull led the Warriors with a .547 batting average and a .603 on‑base percentage; Brett Feldman will also join his older brother Brian at Washington & Jefferson College in the fall.
The Quaker Valley Football and Cheer Golf Outing is scheduled for July 24 at Beaver Valley Golf Course, bringing together families, coaches and community members to celebrate these achievements and raise funds for future scholarships.
Track and field standouts Leo Tyson and Heidi Doebler have set new records for Quaker Valley Middle School, underscoring the district’s broad athletic excellence, a feat also noted by Mimi Anderson and other local supporters.
