Eagleville's baseball squad clinched its fifth consecutive berth in the TSSAA Class 1A state tournament with a decisive 16‑4 win over McKenzie on May 14, sealing a best‑of‑three sectional series.
A Milestone Season for Eagleville Baseball
The victory also marked a personal milestone for head coach Brandon Bassham, who recorded his 500th career win, a testament to a coaching career that began in 2004 and has since amassed multiple district and region titles.
Eagleville entered the game with only two returning starters from the 2025 championship roster, a fact that underscored the team's resilience amid injuries and the overlap with the basketball season that delayed several players.
Bassham, who has led the program since 2019, guided the Eagles to four state titles and this year's tournament appearance, building on a foundation laid during his decade at Cascade where he captured two district crowns and three state tournament berths.
