Nate Kamba, a four-star defensive lineman from Charlotte, North Carolina, announced his decision to join Auburn University during an official visit, edging out a host of elite programs.
Ranked as the No. 27 defensive lineman and the No. 237 overall prospect in the 2027 class, Kamba brings a blend of size, speed and pass-rush productivity that has drawn attention from coaches and analysts alike.
During his high school career at Corvian Community School, he logged 128 tackles, 50 tackles for loss and 14 sacks, numbers that helped him earn scholarship offers from South Carolina, Georgia and Ohio State.
The recruitment saga unfolded over the past year, with South Carolina becoming the first SEC program to extend an offer in January 2025, followed by Georgia’s early-April overture and Ohio State’s initial overture later that month.
Kamba’s official visits included a trip to Columbia to see the Gamecocks face Alabama on June 5, a short-notice visit to Athens just two days before his commitment, and a May 29 trip to Columbus where he toured the Ohio State campus but ultimately fell short of a pledge.
Coaching Context and Commitment
Auburn’s staff, led by head coach Hugh Freeze, extended a scholarship in October 2025 amid a coaching transition, and despite the upheaval, Kamba remained committed, citing the program’s vision and family ties as decisive factors.
The Tigers now boast two four-star defensive linemen in their 2027 recruiting class, a haul that positions them strongly as they look to bolster the front line for the upcoming season.
