Marcus Fakatou, a 6‑foot‑7, 275‑pound defensive lineman from Chatsworth, California, has emerged as one of the most coveted prospects in the 2027 recruiting cycle.
During his senior season at Sierra Canyon School he logged 69 tackles, seven sacks, two forced fumbles and 14 quarterback hurries, earning him the No. 2 ranking among defensive linemen and the No. 3 overall prospect in the state.
After a standout performance at the 2026 Polynesian Bowl in January, Fakatou announced that he would no longer be taking official visits to Oregon or Notre Dame, cutting his list to three programs.
Ohio State offered him a scholarship in late May 2025 and hosted his first official visit on May 29, a day that coincided with the Buckeyes' 13 blue‑chip commitments, none of which are interior defensive linemen.
