Detroit Red Wings add Swiss forward Théo Rochette
The club announced a one‑year, entry‑level agreement with the 24‑year‑old forward, who spent the 2025‑26 campaign with Lausanne HC in Switzerland’s top league.
Rochette posted a career‑high 43 points, including 22 goals and 21 assists, over 46 regular‑season games, and added seven points in seven playoff contests.
A junior career built on championships
Before turning professional, Rochette captained the Québec‑based Chicoutimi Saguenéens to a QMJHL title in 2022‑23, recording 106 points in 65 games, and later led the team to a Memorial Cup championship the following year, contributing six points in four tournament games.
His earlier stint with the Québec Remparts saw him compile 317 points in 271 regular‑season appearances across the QMJHL.
International experience on the world stage
Rochette’s résumé includes a silver medal at the 2026 IIHF World Championship, where he tallied six points in ten games, as well as a silver at the 2019 Hlinka Gretzky Cup while representing Canada. He also earned two assists for Switzerland at the 2018 Hlinka Gretzky Cup.
The Red Wings hope his blend of offensive production and playoff experience will bolster their forward lines as the new season approaches.
