A New Era of Emphasis on Discipline
After a bruising 2025 campaign that ended with a second‑round playoff defeat, Westgate High’s football program is refocusing its efforts on a bounce‑back season.
The squad returns with a blend of underclassmen standouts and seasoned seniors, a group that was heavily courted by colleges and entered the offseason with high expectations.
Quarterback play will be anchored by Noah Antonie, who earned offers from Grambling State and North Alabama, and Brock Mitchell, a Florida State recruit who is targeting 1,500 receiving yards and double‑digit touchdowns.
At wide receiver, Cayden Lancelin, a four‑star prospect ranked second in the state for the Class of 2028, is expected to stretch defenses and create mismatches.
Defensively, edge rusher Chance Archangel, a Texas A&M commit, will lead a secondary that includes juniors Shadon Lee, Rahim Alem and Carter Michael, as well as sophomore Zyier Stokes, all looking to tighten up the unit.
Coach Ryan Antoine has emphasized discipline, teamwork and coachability throughout the offseason, hoping those traits will translate into on‑field cohesion.
The ultimate goal is to harness the talent on the roster and guide the team back to the Superdome, where the community has long dreamed of seeing its players shine on a national stage.
