The Mount Vernon baseball squad finally broke a four-game skid on Tuesday, downing Corsica 13-5 in a game that featured 19 hits and a flurry of offensive fireworks.
Bradley Dean was nearly perfect at the plate, going 4-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs scored, while Spencer Neugebauer, Tyce Feistner, Chase Hetland and Tanner Van Driel each added three hits and two RBIs to the onslaught.
Parker Mandel delivered a strong outing on the mound, striking out three batters over four innings while allowing just two runs and two hits, and Luke Norden closed the game in relief, surrendering three runs on three hits with two strikeouts in five frames.
The victory not only restored confidence but also showcased depth, as the team’s lineup consistently produced extra-base hits and capitalized on opposing errors.
