James Pribbernow, a 44‑year‑old resident of Midland, appeared before Magistrate Gerald Ladwig in Midland County District Court on June 11 to face three felony assault charges.
According to Capt. Shannon Guilbeaux of the Midland County Sheriff’s Office, the alleged attack occurred around 7:30 p.m. in Lee Township, where Pribbernow is said to have wielded a baseball bat and struck a 43‑year‑old man as well as two 19‑year‑old men.
The victims, who were not physically injured, were reportedly taken to safety by deputies before the suspect was taken into custody.
Pribbernow was initially lodged in the Midland County Jail before posting a $25,000 bond that secured his release pending further proceedings.
Upcoming Legal Steps
A probable cause hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. on June 23, with Judge Michael Carpenter presiding, to determine whether the case will move forward.
The court will examine the evidence presented by prosecutors and assess whether there is sufficient cause to proceed to trial. In the meantime, Pribbernow’s legal team has indicated a willingness to contest the charges.
Community members have expressed concern over the incident, while local officials emphasize the importance of due process and public safety.
