Louisiana Tech has unveiled its 2026 fall soccer schedule, a 18‑match slate that signals the program’s inaugural season in the Sun Belt Conference. The announcement, made public on Tuesday, sets the stage for a campaign that blends familiar rivalries with new conference challenges.
A Milestone Season for the Bulldogs
The Bulldogs will begin with three home games against Nicholls, Southeastern Louisiana and Lamar, followed by exhibition matches against Grambling State and Central Arkansas. Those early contests will give the team a chance to build chemistry before stepping onto the conference stage.
Louisiana Tech’s first Sun Belt encounter will be against Marshall, marking the Bulldogs’ debut in the league. A week later, Appalachian State will travel to Ruston for the program’s first home Sun Belt matchup, adding a regional rivalry to the mix.
Seven of the 18 opponents are rematches from the 2025 season, with four of those coming against Sun Belt peers. In total, 16 of the Bulldogs’ opponents have met Louisiana Tech at least four times before, and eight of the ten conference foes have logged eight or more historical meetings, underscoring the depth of the schedule.
Head coach Matt Lodge, in his first year at the helm, will guide a roster eager to prove itself on a larger stage. His early imprint is already evident in the non‑conference lineup, which emphasizes home‑field advantage and competitive balance.
The Sun Belt Championship is slated for November 9‑14 in Foley, Alabama, where the top teams will compete for the conference crown. The championship game itself is scheduled for November 14, offering a decisive finale to the regular season.
