A Sunday night basketball game at Cayuga Park in St. Paul turned violent when gunfire erupted, leaving three participants wounded.
The victims included a 14‑year‑old boy who was struck in the knee, a man who suffered a leg wound and was taken to Regions Hospital, and another man who arrived at the same hospital with a hand injury.
All three injuries were classified as non‑life‑threatening, and by Monday morning no arrests had been reported.
Investigation Underway
The St. Paul Police Department’s Non‑Fatal Shooting Unit is now leading the investigation, canvassing the scene at the intersection of Cayuga and L’Orient streets in the city’s North End.
Community members gathered at the park earlier in the week for pickup games, and the sudden violence has sparked concern among local residents.
Authorities have asked anyone with information to come forward, emphasizing that the case remains open and that no suspects have been identified.
