A Community‑Driven Fundraiser
SIU Men's Basketball will host its annual golf scramble on August 27 at The Links at Kokopelli in Marion, turning the scenic course into a fundraiser for the program. All proceeds from the event are directed toward supporting the basketball team's operations and future initiatives.
Registration opens at 9 a.m. with a grab‑and‑go breakfast, after which players will enjoy a 10 a.m. shotgun start, setting the tone for a day of friendly competition and camaraderie.
Mid‑day, boxed lunches will be served at 12:30 p.m., and the event will culminate with a heavy appetizer and drink reception at 3:30 p.m., featuring a silent auction that adds excitement to the afternoon.
The scramble is capped at 30 teams of four, each costing $1,000, and every participant receives a gift package; prizes will be awarded to the team with the best score, adding a competitive edge to the charity event.
Sponsorship opportunities are available at seven distinct levels, allowing businesses and individuals to align their brands with SIU athletics while supporting the program’s future.
Those unable to play can still join the reception for $30, and individual golfers have the option to compete for $250, ensuring broader community involvement.
