Gators Gear Up for a Summer of Growth

The Florida Gators baseball squad capped a remarkable season with a 41‑21 record, securing the No. 8 national seed and drawing attention across the collegiate landscape.

Training Camp Schedule

A core group of Gators — Aidan King, Jackson Barberi and Joshua Whritenour — are now headed to the Collegiate National Team Training Camp, where they will join a select cohort of the nation’s top talent.

The camp kicks off with a three‑day slate of doubleheaders in Burlington, Danville and Cary from June 27 through June 29, after which the participants will travel to Fayetteville for a series of games running July 1‑4.

King, the SEC Pitcher of the Year, arrives with a 3.21 ERA, a 1.03 WHIP and 92 strikeouts in 16 starts, while Barberi posted a 3.13 ERA, 55 strikeouts and a 1.02 WHIP over 19 outings. Whritenour, though posting a 5.40 ERA, contributed seven saves and 49 strikeouts in 25 appearances.

Beyond the camp, several Gators are slated to showcase their skills in summer leagues. Transfer catcher Jon Emury, the ASUN Player of the Year, batted .364 with 17 home runs, while infielder Ethan Surowiec hit .317 with 12 homers and a team‑high 63 RBIs. Outfielder Brendan Lawson added a team‑high 19 home runs and 48 RBIs, and incoming freshman pitcher Cameron Hanes is already making noise in the Florida Collegiate Summer League.

The upcoming schedule not only offers a chance for individual exposure but also reinforces the Gators’ depth as they prepare for the next competitive chapter.
