Liberty University’s women’s soccer program has unveiled its 2026 campaign, a schedule that blends home comforts with a rigorous road test as the Lady Flames aim to protect their Conference USA championship.
Key Matchups and Challenges
Head coach Lang Wedemeyer said the slate was designed to test the team while preserving the momentum built over the past three seasons, highlighting the blend of in‑state rivalries and high‑profile Power Four matchups.
The season opens on August 13 when Liberty hosts East Carolina, kicking off a stretch that will see the team travel to seven different states over the next month.
Among the highlights are three games against Power Four programs — Virginia, Virginia Tech and Pittsburgh — each offering a different style of play and a chance to measure the Lady Flames against the nation’s elite.
The conference championship will be held in Newark, Delaware, from November 8‑13, where Liberty hopes to repeat the success that earned them the title in 2025.
Liberty will also host a rematch with Missouri State on October 18, a team that proved a formidable foe in the previous season, while the final regular‑season road trip concludes with matches at Kennesaw State and Jacksonville State before a November 1 showdown with the same opponent.
Across the schedule the team will face seven in‑state opponents, including a perfect 4‑0 record against Western Kentucky, and will play four consecutive non‑conference games between August 16 and August 27.
With an overall 17‑3‑5 record over three seasons in Conference USA, the Lady Flames enter 2026 with a winning pedigree and a determination to make the title defense their most memorable yet.
