Sunday night at Cayuga Park in St. Paul turned from a casual basketball game into a scene of chaos when gunfire erupted, striking three participants.
A 14‑year‑old boy was hit in the knee, while a man in his thirties was shot in the leg and rushed to Regions Hospital. Another adult arrived at the same facility after being wounded in the hand, and all injuries were reported as non‑life‑threatening.
The incident occurred just after 8:45 p.m. and prompted a swift response from the St. Paul Police Department’s Non‑Fatal Shooting Unit, which has taken charge of the investigation.
As of Monday morning, no arrests had been made and authorities are asking anyone with information to come forward. Community members expressed shock, emphasizing that such violence is rare in the normally peaceful North End neighborhood.
