The 2026 USA Baseball Collegiate National Team Training Camp will open its doors in late June, bringing together some of the nation’s most promising college pitchers. Among the invitees are three Florida Gators right‑handers who have turned heads with dominant performances during the 2025 season.
Aidan King, a sophomore who earned his first collegiate invitation, paced the Gators with eight victories and a 3.21 earned‑run average while logging 97 innings. His consistency helped Florida stay competitive in the SEC and marked him as the first underclassman from the program to be recognized as SEC Pitcher of the Year.
Jackson Barberi, also a sophomore, contributed a 5‑2 record, a 1.02 WHIP and a 3.13 ERA, and he was responsible for five of the Gators’ seven shutouts, delivering 11 scoreless appearances that kept opponents at bay.
Reliever Joshua Whritenour, a redshirt freshman, topped the staff with seven saves and a 1.23 WHIP, while limiting hitters to a .223 batting average. His ability to close games has made him a reliable option in high‑pressure situations.
Camp Schedule and International Play
The camp will begin with a series of exhibition games from June 27 through 29, followed by the Stars versus Stripes showdown on June 30. Those contests will serve as the final evaluation before the selected roster travels to Taichung City, Taiwan, for the World Collegiate Baseball Championship from July 11 to 15.
The tournament will feature collegiate teams from Taiwan, Japan and Korea, divided into pool play, semifinals and a championship final. Players will experience a high‑level international environment that blends competition with cultural exchange.
Path to the Final Roster
Under the guidance of head coach Kevin O'Sullivan and assistant Liam Peterson, the Gators’ pitching staff hopes to translate their collegiate success into performances that earn a spot on the final United States roster.
