Bamber Maes, a standout freshman infielder from Midland College, has officially committed to Texas Christian University, signaling a significant addition to the Horned Frogs’ roster for the upcoming season.
During the 2026 campaign, Maes posted a .444 batting average, amassed 87 hits, scored 82 runs, and drove in 68 RBIs, while also stealing 12 bases and drawing 45 walks with only 17 strikeouts in 60 games.
Reuniting with a Familiar Face
He will be joined at TCU by his former catcher and Midland teammate Caleb Eager, a move that promises continuity and chemistry in the infield.
The Horned Frogs have bolstered their lineup with several other position players, including George Gilson, Trace Mazon, and James Nunnallee, each bringing proven collegiate experience to the squad.
Roster Shifts and Transfer Portal Movements
At the same time, TCU has seen infielders Jack Bell and Kyuss Gargett exit via the transfer portal, a transition that reflects the dynamic nature of college baseball rosters.
Coach Jim Schlossnagel expressed confidence that the incoming talent, combined with the returning core, positions the program for a competitive run in the 2027 season.
